Meditation W/Madeleine Hamer
March 24 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
“What the world needs now is love, sweet love.” Loving others starts with the felt ability to love ourselves.
In this weekly meditation group, Madeleine Hamer, RN, will teach the science-based skills of self-compassion and guide you in a meditation meant to nourish the heart space. Share in these Sunday mornings as a ritual to soften your heart and connect with yourself and like-minded community members. We will learn new tools each week but attendance at all sessions is not required. Drop-in’s are welcome.
“Self-compassion is a gift available to anyone willing to open up to themselves. When we develop the habit of self-kindness, suffering becomes an opportunity to experience love and tenderness from within… we can soothe and comfort our own pain, just as a child is soothed and comforted by her mother’s arms. This is not to say that we don’t need other people. Of course we do. But…who is the only person in your life who is available 24/7 to provide you with care and kindness? You.”
-Kristin Neff, Ph.D.
