Breaking Up is Hard to Do
(WITH SUGAR THAT IS)
HERE’S WHY, SUGAR IS ADDICTIVE! Did you know….
- Sugar can make you fat. Our bodies store excess sugar as fat.
- Sugar has NO nutritional value. It is VOID of minerals, vitamins & fiber. It contains EMPTY CALORIES that keep you hungry for more!
- Sugar is hidden in many foods we eat like bread, peanut butter, lunchmeats, salad dressings, condiments, sauces, pizza, etc. CHECK YOUR INGREDIENT LABELS!
- Sugar is linked to behavioral disorders.
- Sugar is acidic. It can leach minerals from your body.
- A soda containing 40 grams of sugar contains 10 teaspoons of sugar!
- A glass of juice can have the same amount of sugar as a glass of soda.
- Simple sugars have been documented to contribute/aggravate health problems; asthma, mood disorders, heart disease, & arthritis & lead to “type 2” diabetes.
- Americans eat approx. 165 lbs. of sugar a year, that’s approx. 31- 5lb. bags.
- There are 4 grams of sugar in 1 teaspoon.
- Artificial sweeteners are NOT a healthy replacement for sugar.
- Americans eat 30 times more sugar than our ancestors did 200 years ago. Do you know why?
We all need some sweetness in our life. Breaking up with refined sugars is not so hard to do when replacing them with natural sweetener. My two favorites are raw local honey and maple syrup.
