Susan Chasen’s course on healthy eating was not only extremely informative, but lots of fun! Every week we concentrated on one topic, and spent the first hour examining and discussing the food, its benefits and various products available. We then moved to the kitchen area, where we prepared one recipe that included the food in discussion. One of our first classes centered on “greens” and we prepared a delicious dish of steamed greens with ginger sauce. Every week, I would go home and use what I had learned to prepare delicious and healthy meals for my family.
I am a Family Nurse Practitioner, who has been practicing for almost 30 years. I have always eaten well and exercise regularly. I consider healthy lifestyles and preventive approaches to health paramount. In this country, even among those of us who try our best to eat well, there are many areas in which we are not well versed. Susan’s course was enlightening, and changed much of what I do now in my kitchen. I use my healthy eating notebook that she helped us compile on a daily basis and I have discussed some of what I have learned with my own patients. I highly recommend the course! Susan is a terrific teacher!!
